Skyrim and Fallout 3 on iOS platform

Mobile gaming has become an even bigger business since the smartphone market exploded in the last couple of years. There is more big title games finding their way onto the various mobile platforms, and now it seems that Skyrim and Fallout 3 could be making their way to the iOS platform.

We told you yesterday that the popular online game World of Warcraft may be coming to the iPhone, and now according to a report on Digital Trends a new job listing on the Bethesda Game Studio’s website teases about the games coming to the iPhone and iPad.

When the new iPad was first showed off to the world Epic’s Infinity Blade Dungeons was shown off on that lovely new screen, and Apple’s mobile devices are now coming into their own as powerful portable games machines. Currently though the iPhone and iPad are still missing out on many of the big game titles, but this now looks to be changing.

The job listing for an iOS programmer has appeared on the ZeniMax’s careers website, which is Bethesda’s parent company, and the ad listing states the company is looking for an experienced iOS developer that are also familiar with the company’s titles. The candidate should also have a love for Apple products, who likes to follow the live blogs of Apple’s events.

While the listing doesn’t say which Bethesda titles will be coming to Apple’s iOS devices, taking into account the new iPad’s power you would have thought some of the developers older titles such as Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion could be converted to run on the platform.

There is also a chance that the rumoured Elder Scrolls MMO could find its way to the iOS platform, with suggestions an online version could be unveiled as early as May. The MMO is being claimed to take place 1000 years before the latest Skyrim title, and that the game will have three factions for players to join.

If there is any truth in the rumour owners of the new iPad may be concerned how hot their device will become after playing for any length of time. There have been reports the latest version of the device is running a lot warmer than the previous model when being pushed hard.

Would you like to see Skyrim or Fallout 3 arrive on the iOS platform?
