No Motorola device improvement, no Android ICS 4.0

Well now, if you are one of the Motorola faithful out there that is patiently waiting to see if your Android device will receive an update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich, for some there is good news, whilst for others there is some disappointing news when it comes to Motorola pushing out that ICS update.

According to the guys over at Talk Android, old Motorola is sticking to their previous promise that such Motorola Android devices as the Motorola Droid RAZR, Droid RAZR MAXX, Motorola Droid 4, the Motorola Droid Bionic, the Motorola Xoom WiFi + 3G/4G, and both the 8.2 and 10.1 Xyboard tablets will see an update to Android 4.0 at some point apparently in Q3 2012.

However, when it comes to other certain Motorola Android devices such as the Motorola Droid X2 and Motorola Droid 3, well apparently you are right out of luck as Motorola has decided these devices, along with others will forgo the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update and remain on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Apparently Motorola state that they work closely with mobile phone carriers and Google for every software update, and they want the release of ICS to improve their devices, so if Motorola determines it can’t be done then they are not able to upgrade that device.

So basically, if it looks that it will cost too much or won’t improve on a certain Motorola device then Motorola will not deliver the Android Ice Cream Sandwich to that device, which no doubt will be quite disappointing for some.
