Samsung Galaxy Tab range ICS update schedule tipped

At last as each day passes we seem to hear about more hardware on the Android platform being upgraded to the newest version of the operating system, and today we have news of the Samsung Galaxy Tab range ICS update schedule being tipped.

Samsung is still busy updating its older Galaxy smartphone range to Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and now according to a report over on Gadget Helpline Samsung will begin updating its range of Galaxy Tabs next month, which will be welcome news to owners of the devices that are still running Android Honeycomb.

While most of the range is down to be upgraded to the new software in August, there some models down to receive it in July. The dates are coming from a source from inside the company and the information is pretty comprehensive, so it makes you believe it is accurate. The update is tipped to be similar to what the Samsung Galaxy Note has, but hopefully without the problems.

It will add to the devices the usual Android 4.0 theme and features along with some improvements to battery life, along with the overall speed of each device. The models down to get the update in the coming couple of months are the GT-P7500 Galaxy Tab 10.1 WIFI + 3G, GT-P7510 Galaxy Tab 10.1 WIFI, GT-P7300 Galaxy Tab 8.9 WIFI + 3G, GT-P7310 Galaxy Tab 8.9 WIFI, GT-P6200 Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 WIFI + 3G, GT-P6810 Galaxy Tab 7.7 WIFI, GT-P6800 Galaxy Tab 7.7 WIFI + 3G, and the GT-P6210 Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 WIFI.

Unfortunately there is no information on what models will be receiving the new operating system first, and it is recommended that users keep an eye out for the update via the Software Update section on the device that can be found in the Settings option. As the devices are still stuck on Android Honeycomb this will mark the devices first major update since being released.

Do you own a Samsung Galaxy Tab and if so what do you think of it?
