Android tablets gain official TiVo app

There has been a TiVo mobile app for both iOS and Android smartphones for quite some time, whilst way back in February TiVo stated they would eventually launch a TiVo app for Android tablets, and remaining good to their word, TiVo has now release the TiVo for Tablets app for Android.

The TiVo for Tablets Android application offers tablet users the ability to search for a movie or TV show by title, and receive results from the web and TV, and you can order a movie or schedule a recording with the press of a button, locate what is on instantly on a channel via date and time without interrupting the show you are watching.

TiVo for Tablets also allows the user to browse their recorded shows along with playing a show via the app, search across Blockbuster, Amazon Instant Video, Netflix and TV, view cast and crew whilst watch the show, and comment about what you are viewing on Twitter and Facebook.

You can also schedule, search and browse for shows whilst you are away from home, manage your ongoing SeasonPass recordings in your to do list, and delete or re-prioritise recordings of your favourite shows, use a TiVo remote control replica or gesture based remote control.

The TiVo for tablets app including Suddenlink and RCN Premiere DVRs turns your Android slate into a command centre for your TiVo DVR, so if you are one of the Android tablet owning faithful out there with a TiVo DVR and wish to take advantage of the TiVo for Tablets app you can download the app for free by hitting up Google Play.
