LG Optimus 4X HD availability to other countries

While many smartphone consumers may look to the likes of Apple or Samsung for their next handset, there are still a number of high specification smartphones out there from other companies. One such device is the LG Optimus 4X HD and we now have some news of the handsets availability in other countries.

As Cnet Asia are reporting it was already known the handset would be available in Singapore, but now LG has announced that the Optimus 4X HD will also be releasing this month in the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Pricing details will be available from local carriers in each country once available.

The smartphone was first revealed earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, with the device finally being released to the public. To recap the Optimus 4X HD features a 4.7-inch IPS touchscreen, which is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad core processor, and will come running the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

In Singapore the handset is selling for around S$738, which is about $592.96 in the US and will be available from July 28th. Consumers picking up the Optimus 4X HD will also be treated to a specially designed leather case with each phone purchased.

The site has also done a first impression review of the Optimus 4X HD, and while the device that was used wasn’t a retail ready unit, it was still found to be slick in operation which is probably down to that Tegra 3 quad core processor. The handsets display also caught the eye with vibrant colours on the 720p IPS display.

Users are offered a good grip with the handset thanks to its leather like texture on the back, and LG has added some tweaks to the UI that includes an updated Optimus UI 3.0. Unfortunately there is still no word when the handset will be hitting Europe or the US.
