Sprint Samsung Galaxy Reverb SPH-M950 quick specs

Recently we saw a new smartphone heading to Verizon in the shape of the Samsung Jasper, and now a similar handset has appeared but this time destined for Sprint and called the Samsung Galaxy Reverb with the model number of SPH-M950.

As The Droid Guy is reporting the handset has recently been revealed but unofficially via Twitter, and it is thought the Samsung Galaxy Reverb is heading straight to US Carrier Sprint. An image of the device was posted on EV Leaks account along with a few specs for the handset. While the pricing and release date for the device remain a mystery, with the information provided so far it looks like we will be seeing a worthy device from the company.

Spec wise the Galaxy Reverb will hold its own in a pretty competitive market, and will come powered by a Qualcomm MSM8655 that has been clocked at 1.4GHz. The handset also features 768MB of RAM and 4GB of on board storage, which is not bad for an entry level smartphone.

The Galaxy Reverb has a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of up to 480 x 800 pixels. There are two cameras with a five megapixel unit on the back, while around the front is a 1.3 megapixel for video conferencing. Another nice feature of the handset once it is released is the fact it will come running the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and many believe the device is Jelly Bean ready so will be updated to the later software in the coming months.

There is currently no information on the connectivity of the Galaxy Reverb, but considering Sprint’s aggressive move into LTE you would have thought the device will be compatible with the faster data connection, but based on the architecture of the processor, HSPA+ may be the best it can offer.

Other hardware that uses the MSM8655 SOC includes the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Motorola Triumph, and HTC Droid Incredible with none of these offering LTE connectivity. The Samsung Galaxy Reverb may prove a successful handset if it is priced right with its worthy list of specifications.
Are you in the market for a more affordable smartphone?
