CM10 boot animation available, removes Cid

If you are one for tinkering with your Android smartphone, and use CyanogenMod 10, you might like to know there is now a new revamped boot animation for CM10 that does away with the CM9 CyanogenMod mascot, Cid, because apparently Cid drew quite a few complains from users as Cid’s facial expression seemed somewhat evil, bad or angry looking, and thus Cid has now been removed from this latest CM10 boot animation.

We have a short demo video of the new CM10 boot animation for your viewing consideration below, which comes our way courtesy of the guys over at Android Authority, and along with removing Cid the new CM10 boot animation has been made as clean as possible.

The author of the boot animation, 73v1n says that since the last time, he realised boot animations shouldn’t be 30-seconds long and 15Mb in size, and should be pretty, so this one is only 2MB for the biggest version and is pretty whilst not having Cid or the version number.

Apparently downloads of the CM10 boot animation are available for several smartphone and tablet resolutions, which you can grab by heading on over to Android Authority, and once you have downloaded, open CM10_bootanimation.zip, select the vertical or horizontal resolution your require, then copy that bootanimation.zip to your SDcard, and then using either ES File Explorer or Root Explorer, put the new bootanimation.zip file into system/media.

So there you have it, don’t forget to head on down and hit that play button to check out the new CM10 boot animation, and feel free to let us know if you do use it on your device that it is all working as it should, by dropping us a line to our comments area below…enjoy.
