HTC One Android 4.3 update carrier holdup in US possible

#

The HTC One is among the most sought after smartphones that is currently available to consumers and the device is currently waiting to be upgraded to a later version of operating system, but a US carrier holdup is possible for the HTC One Android 4.3 update.

It has long been expected that the US version of the HTC One will see the Android 4.3 update by the end of the month ahead of a release elsewhere, now US HTC President, Jason Mackenzie has again taken to Twitter to provide an update on the situation.

The new firmware is promised to begin rolling out for the HTC One Developers Edition sometime this week, but Mackenzie said that the company is “still working hard & optimistic for U.S. carrier certification”.

Now the software could still easily get the green light from carriers this week but time and time again Android updates get held up by various carriers preventing the new firmware reaching end users.

But if this doesn’t happen soon owners of the HTC One in the US could easily miss the September release that was promised previously, and this comes as Google is expected to announce yet another new version of the operating system in a few weeks time.

At least it seems that customers of Canadian carrier TELUS look set to receive the new software shortly, as the carrier has pegged its arrival by the end of this month which is almost upon us.

Update: Serial HTC tipster LlabTooFer has just took to Twitter to reveal the update has just reached Taiwan and posted a screenshot as well.
