An update to the Instagram app has hit the Google Play Store, bringing it to version 5.1. Inside the update, users will be met with a refreshed user interface, one which is much more flat, taking cues from the iOS version of the app.
Some new UI changes makes the app faster and more responsive:
“Your profile screen now loads twice as fast, and we’ve cut the overall app size in half to increase speed throughout Instagram,”  explained Instagram on its official blog.
Instagram has also made its Android app easier to use by simplifying the visuals and making use of “valuable screen space for small devices”. That also means button are now within reach on a larger device.
“It’s the same Instagram for Android you know and love–faster, cleaner and easier to use than ever,” added Instagram.
I for one love the update and welcome more to the official app, hopefully Android will get more filters to match its iOS counterpart.
