The Micromax Canvas Nitro A310 has been fairly popular since it released in India in September, while the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime became available more recently in November. Both are smartphones for the affordable end of the market, and so today we’re looking at the Micromax Canvas Nitro vs. Samsung Galaxy Core Prime for buyers in India.

These are both dual SIM Android handsets and so will appeal to the same kind of customers, although the Micromax phone is the more expensive of the two. The question is whether it’s worth paying the extra money for the Canvas Nitro over the Samsung phone when it comes down to specs alone? Let’s take a look and find out.

The Micromax Canvas Nitro was launched at Rs. 12,990 and it can now be found on sale from around Rs. 11,990, although this varies by retailer. The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Dual SIM price has varied since launch, but we’ve recently seen it for around Rs. 9,300, also dependent on retailer.

After this rundown we can say that on just about every aspect the Micromax phone has superior specs when compared to the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime, and the price difference seems worth paying in our opinion. The Samsung phone does have a higher level of expandable storage and a later version of Android, but the differences are not notable when you take into account the many other advantages that the Canvas Nitro has.

As well as the specs above, potential buyers of either phone should consider their preference of design, brand loyalty, and after-sales service, but on the specs it seems clear that you get quite a lot more for the extra cost of the Canvas Nitro. When you’ve reflected on the above information it would be interesting to hear your viewpoints on these phones.

Do you prefer the branding and cheaper price of the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime? Maybe you think the Micromax Canvas Nitro offers better value for money even though it has a slightly higher price? Send your comments to let us know.
