Battle Royale fans rejoice – PUBG and Fortnite are available for smartphones!

PUBG vs Fortnite mobile

PUBG and Fortnite

The battle royale genre in gaming has boomed over the last year. Although not new, many games before has tried this gameplay before, but didn’t made enough buzz. Then, PUBG(short from Playerunkown’s Battlegrounds) was released, and it took over the gaming world in a blink. It was one of the most played games on Steam, surpassing even Dota 2, one of the most played games in the world. Then along the way, Fortnite made a separate version of the game into Fortnite: Battle Royale. The game slowly crawled up the charts, and it is currently one of the most played games in the world. Both games have their ups and downs, and many already have their fanboys. But, both games are now available on smartphones, so let’s take a small look at them!

PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) Mobile

As some could say the game that started the craze, PUBG is the game that made you want a chicken dinner. No, that’s not a typo if you’re hearing this for the first time – the winner of the game is crowned as “Winner winner, chicken dinner”. But to get to that chicken dinner, you have to storm through 99 other players on a big map. The mobile version is almost the same as the original game on your computer or console. You log in, wait for other players to gather and then jump of an airplane to an island. From there, you have to search through different buildings to find weapons and armor to equip and kill the other players. The goal is to be the last man alive and with the storm closing in, believe me – it’s not an easy task.

The controls are pretty intuitive and after some time you can get used to them easily. The gameplay is pretty much the same as the PC version, with some optimizations to adjust the mobile experience. The game is available on both iOS and Android through the app stores. And unlike the PC/Console versions, the mobile version is free to play! Go get that chicken dinner!

Fortnite Battle Royale

Fortnite is currently one of the most played games in the world. The game took the world by storm thanks to the fact that is free, but don’t be turned back from that. The goal is the same – you drop out from a BattleBus and scour the island for weapons. The last man to survive wins the game, and to do that, you have to outlive 99 other players. The cartoony design makes Fortnite more acceptable, but this can also turn some away. But, unlike other battle royale games, Fortnite has some added features such as building. You can build walls, stairs and floors, so you can use that to fort up or infiltrate other buildings. The developers are constantly releasing new game modes and weapons, making the game refreshing.

Fortnite Mobile is the same game as the one on PC and consoles, and you can cross play with friends there! The controls are intuitive and easy to learn, and you have some added optimizations such as visual indicators of a nearby enemy. The game is currently available only for iOS, with Android coming up in the next months. Jump right in and do a rocket ride!
