Nokia X7 launched!

#

Nokia is one of the biggest success of companies in the past two years. HMD Global, the giant that bought the Nokia brand, brought it back to the top. They managed to snag the number 5 spot in sales on the old continent. And they have no plans in stopping there. Recently, we took a look at the Nokia 7.1, a new midrange offering that packs a lot of premium features. Now, China got the possible Plus version of the same device. The Nokia X7 just got launched there, so let’s take a closer look at it!

Design

Starting with the design, Nokia definitely delivered again here. Continuing on the excellent design from the 7.1, the X7 also brings an aluminum body with glass on the back. That should give the device a premium feel in the hand, and the rounded edges will further complement that. On the front, you will find the 6.18” LCD PureView display with 1080 x 2280 resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. There is a wide notch which houses most of the sensors and the front camera. As a bonus, the added notch gives more real screen estate and really small bezels. The bottom chin is still noticeably big, similar to the one on the Nokia 7.1. On the back, the camera setup is placed in the middle, with the fingerprint sensor right under it. The device will come in four different color options: black, blue, silver and red.

Features

Going inside, we can see that Nokia X7 is going to pack a strong punch, even for a midrange device. Starting with the chipset, the device will feature the newest Snapdragon 710 processor. Accompanied by the Adreno 616 GPU, this hardware combination should handle all of your tasks without any problems. Going over to the memory department, the device will come with few options. For RAM, you can choose between 4 or 6GB, while for internal storage – 64 or 128GB. There is a MicroSD slot available, so you can upgrade the internal storage up to 400GB. Rounding up the internals, the 3500mAh battery should easily last you through a full day of use.

For the cameras, the X7 comes with a dual setup on the back and a single shooter on the front. On the back, you have a primary 12MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 13MP telephoto shooter. The optics are branded by Zeiss, and they should take pretty good photos. On the front, you have a single 20MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture. It should be perfect for all of your selfies and video calls. While we’re at video, the device can shoot up to 2160p in 30fps.

Finishing with the software, as all of the other Nokia devices, the X7 also comes as part of Android One. For now, that is stock and bloat-free Android Oreo 8.1, with a Pie upgrade in the following months. Also, it’s guaranteed security and feature updates up to three and two years, respectively.

Pricing and availability

The most interesting thing about the Nokia X7 is probably the price. In China, the device will be priced at around $245 for the lowest model, up to around $360 for the biggest one. That is pretty competitive, but we’re expecting the prices to go higher when this device reaches the western markets. The device is only available in China and can be purchased right now.
