Android 2.3 Gingerbread Nexus S Tour Video

So the latest darling device from Google will be sporting the latest darling operating system from Google, and we have a video tour of both for your viewing pleasure today, Android 2.3 Gingerbread running on the Google Nexus S, or Samsung Nexus S whichever you prefer to call the device.

The Android 2.3 Gingerbread walkthrough video comes our way courtesy of Aaron Baker over at Phone Dog and delivers a nine minutes up close and personal look at what Android 2.3 Gingerbread offers the Google Nexus S.

Aaron says that Gingerbread is only a minor upgrade over Android 2.2 Froyo but does bring such things as improved performance throughout, modified system colours, NFC support and a new Android keyboard, but other than that it appears that Gingerbread does really offer a great deal over Froyo.

Obviously once the Nexus S makes it to the shelves it will come sporting Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and no doubt sometime in 2011 other high end Android smartphone will receive the upgrade, but as yet there hasn’t been any official roll-out schedule announced for other devices.

Still it’s good to see what Android 2.3 Gingerbread offers over Android 2.2 Froyo even if it isn’t much. Personally I’m not too sure why manufacturers shove out upgrades that don’t really offer a great deal of difference to previous operating system versions, and can’t really fathom why they don’t just push out a new OS once that have something of real value to deliver, perhaps when Honeycomb comes along…enjoy the video below.
