BlackBerry Torch 9810 Hits AT&T Coming Soon Page

For those that still remain faithful to BlackBerry and have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the successor to the BlackBerry Torch, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 also known as the BlackBerry Torch 2 to come to the AT&T network, it appears you may not have that much longer to wait to get your handset on the RIM made smartphone.

According to an article over on Unwired View, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 has now popped up on AT&T’s coming soon page and touts that the BlackBerry Torch 9810 is the first 4G BlackBerry smartphone from the carrier.

Spec wise the BlackBerry Torch 9810 retains the same form factor as the original Torch with its vertical slide out QWERTY keyboard, but ups the ante when it comes to processor, and sports a 1.2 GHz CPU, along with a 3.25-inch touch screen, 5 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash and 720p video.

The latest Research In Motion Torch also packs 8GB of internal storage with microSD expansion up to 32GB, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm jack and of course the newest BlackBerry operating system BlackBerry OS 7.

That “first 4G BlackBerry smartphone claim is of course based on AT&T’s HSPA+ that is available in limited areas, and well some consider HSPA+ not true 4G but there you go.

Unfortunately though the AT&T coming soon page doesn’t deliver any information as to just when AT&T will release the BlackBerry Torch 9810 to their customers nor does it give any indication as to what the smartphone may command price wise.

However for those that are interested in the BlackBerry Torch 9810 you can of course hit up the coming soon page and enter your email address to be updated on the 4G BlackBerry device availability.

Research In Motion has been having quite a difficult time in the mobile arena lately, and the odds are on that they are hoping the BlackBerry Torch 9810 will pull back some of that market share they have lost to rivals in the past, although whether the BlackBerry Torch 9810 be a will success for RIM remains to be seen, but the original BlackBerry Torch faired well so there is always a chance.
