The title above is a little harsh, but we do believe the Verizon HTC Thunderbolt 4G is dying a slow death. The reason behind this is all down to the continuous price cuts, Amazon has dropped the price yet again and a very low one at that.
If you visit Amazon you will see yet another price cut, and this one is very low indeed, the Android 4G LTE smartphone started off with a $699.99 list price but now you can buy for ONLY $49.99, which is a staggering $650.00 (92%) saving.
If you are looking for a 4G LTE Android smartphone, is Thunderbolt is a good choice? it seems the answer would be a big fat NO seeing as the Droid Bionic, Photon 4G and many more other smartphones are releasing soon with better specs.
Today we have already had confirmation that the Motorola Droid Bionic will feature a 4.3-inch display screen and not the suspected 4.5-inch, even though the larger screen would have been nice to see we can still expect this handset also releasing on Verizon to sell very well indeed.
There are many smartphones can could end the HTC Thunderbolt, such as the Samsung Droid Charge, LG Revolution, Droid Bionic, Photon 4G and many more. The Thunderbolt for only $49.99 on contract is ridiculously getting lower and lower, which makes us believe this phone will come to an end with it being taken off the shelves with no re-stock.
The HTC Thunderbolt is still a good spec phone, such as a 4.3-inch Super LCD multi-touch display, 4G LTE, HD 720p video, 8-megapixel camera on the rear, 1.3-MP front-facing camera, Android 2.2, 8GB internal memory, microSD card slot, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 1400 mAh rechargeable battery and so much more.
