Samsung’s newest edition that of the Galaxy Nexus running on Android’s new Ice Cream Sandwich OS, is definitely hogging the limelight and why not? Finally now released on US carrier Verizon, the handset has some impressive features to speak of. As well as Android’s OS, the Nexus packs a 4.65-inch display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, NFC, 5 megapixel rear camera and so on.

Today, pulling our attention towards the international version of the Galaxy Nexus known as the (GSM) version, a new update to Android 4.0.2 can now be accessed, something of which the Verizon model has already benefited with on launch day. According to androidcentral.com, some GSM owners have already spoken of the new update carrying the build number ICL53F, which coincidentally weighs just 8.7MB.

If you’re wondering what the new update will bring with it, news is that “important bug fixes” will be the main priority, along with the audio volume being upped in the Google Navigation turn-by-turn directions and visual improvements being seen.

With this in mind, now is the time to see whether your handset is ready to benefit from the new update, remember the update may be staggered and some of you may not receive it for a few more days. Check Settings> About phone > System updates.
