Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note petition for the needy

The Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone has been a big hit since its release and has finally been released on AT&T in the U.S. Now though it seems that Verizon customers want to get a piece of Galaxy Note action too and a petition for needy potential customers has been established in an effort to make the Big Red sit up and take notice.

When the Galaxy Note was first unveiled there seemed to be some doubt about whether its whopping 5.3-inch display was too big with some noting it was more like a small tablet than a phone. However, those doubts were negated by huge sales in other regions before it finally hit stateside and the hybrid style seems to have found a real niche in the market. Indeed LG has already announced two more upcoming handsets to compete in the larger handset market, the LG Optimus Vu and LG Optimus 4X HD.

The Galaxy Note has really taken off then and it seems many Verizon customers would also like to see this smartphone on their own network and that’s where Change.org, the online petition site comes in. Change.org is currently carrying a petition entitled ‘Verizon Wireless, Inc: Carry the Samsung Galaxy Note a.k.a. Galaxy Journal.’ In the ‘why this is important’ notes an appeal to Verizon is made saying how the company has been groundbreaking in many ways.

However although praise is given for Verizon being the first to offer LTE, its excellent customer service and for bringing Androids to the fore, it also states that Verizon’s competitors are catching up and then gives the Galaxy Note on AT&T as an example of the next level of smartphone. The statement ends, “We the undersigned believe this device represents an overlooked market and a crucial opportunity, and we feel that VZW should capitalize on this opportunity by bringing the Galaxy Note (or Galaxy Journal, as it may be called) to store shelves with the big red V on it. Sprint’s customers are looking for it too; don’t be left behind on this one.” Whether the challenge to keep ahead of its competitors by also offering the Galaxy Note will be taken up by Verizon is not yet known but the petition is nicely worded and you never know, it may just work.

If you would also like to see the Samsung Galaxy Note on Verizon simply head to the petition at the Change.org link above and add your details to the petition. At the last count when we looked over 600 signatures to the petition had already been received so the numbers are racking up pretty quickly and the demand is certainly there. As more people become aware of the petition we would expect those numbers to rise rapidly and we’ll certainly be waiting to see if the Big Red can be influenced by a petition.

Will you be adding to the Galaxy Note on Verizon petition? Why do you want the Galaxy Note so much as opposed to the many other smartphones available? Is it mainly down to the size of the display?
