Droid Bionic to get ICS update as RAZR gets bug fix

The team here on Phones Review try and keep our readers up to date with all the news regarding the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update, and we have new reports that the Motorola Droid Bionic looks set to get the ICS update around the same time as the Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX is set to get the ICS bug fix.

According to the guys at GottaBe Mobile while there is no official release date for the Motorola Droid Bionic to receive the Android ICS update it now seems likely to be coming next month. A source is claiming that the update for the handset is progressing, and a soak test for the new software should be rolled out in about two or three week’s time.

This should mean that the update for the device should begin rolling out during the middle of August, and previously the new operating system was originally down to be released by Motorola in early Q3, but the bugs that have been found with the update on the Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX has seen it pushed back.

Once the soak test has been pushed out to select users to test and all goes well, then the update will be released to everyone for the handset. The ICS update for the handset has leaked out a number of times recently, so it must mean that its official release is imminent.

Meanwhile GottaBe Mobile is also reporting that the Android ICS bug fix update should be arriving for the Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX in August as well. It is also being claimed that a soak test for the handsets is due to arrive in the next two to three weeks, and again if all goes well the software will be pushed out sometime in the middle of next month.

It has to be remembered that this is Android software and Verizon paired together so there is a chance that this time table could change, and the bug fix update has been in the works since just after Verizon first released the update to owners of the handsets at the end of June.

Are you looking forward to receive Android ICS on your Motorola Droid Bionic?
