Nexus 7 lag problems and complaints

It is widely believed that we will soon see a new version of the Nexus 7 being released, but there are growing reports of issues affecting the current model with complaints of lag problems from some users.

The Nexus 7 introduced a lot of consumers to owning a tablet PC as the device brought with its competitive pricing some worthy specifications. A few months later though there some users that are reporting issues with the device such as lag and slow playback of content.

It seems the problem gets worse once the available storage on the device is almost used up with users suggesting running certain apps that can polish up the available memory. It is not known if the issues are down to the Android 4.2.2 firmware currently running on the Nexus 7 or if the hardware is at fault.

The lag issue isn’t affecting all users though and we have a 32GB Nexus 7 in the office with no problems but still have a lot of memory available. Many Nexus 7 users have installed the free Forever Gone application and reported that after it has done its magic their Nexus 7 seems like new again.

It has long been claimed that the new version of the Nexus 7 with an improved display along with a more powerful Qualcomm processor and 2GB of RAM is in the works, and should be available shortly.

Hopefully though the Nexus 7 2 release will see the addition of microSD card support which was arguably the only thing missing from the original model.
