Moto G 2nd gen v21.11.23 update arrives

The new Motorola Moto G (2014) hasn’t been on the shelves for long, but there’s likely to be plenty of demand for this affordable smartphone. If you have already purchased the device you’ll be pleased to learn that the Moto G 2nd gen v21.11.23 update has now arrived. This software update is already being rolled out in the UK, India and some other countries.

The new Moto G released running the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system, and if you want to find out much more about this smartphone you might like to check out our Moto G review roundup. Software version v21.11.23 for the Moto G 2nd generation is available as an OTA (over-the-air) update and is 120.8MB in size. If you want to check for the update manually you need to head to Settings on your device, followed by About and then System Updates.

The changelog for the update shows improvements and fixes, one of them being the default launcher being replaced with the Google Now launcher. This is now accessible for devices running Android 4.1 or later, so it’s likely that other Motorola phones will also be updated to make Google Now the default launcher.

XDA users have also reported that this latest update brings enhancements to auto brightness and includes a new design for the Powered by Android Bootimage. As usual with these kinds of updates there will also be various bug fixes and minor enhancements.
