Vivo Y21L gets listed with 64-bit chip and VoLTE

Vivo Y21L

We haven’t touched on anything from Vivo since July when the company unveiled the Vivo X7 and its Plus sized sibling. Well, they are back in the news today with the Vivo Y21L, which has been announced for India with a price tag of Rs. 7,490.

Vivo is known for putting out affordable smartphones but occasionally drop something a bit more high-end like the Vivo X7 Plus. That smartphone had almost all the bells & whistles you could want without breaking the bank, and looked pretty sweet to boot. The Vivo Y21L does share a few characteristics with that handset, but don’t expect the similarities to extend too far under the hood.

The Vivo Y21L has a nice style but is a bit bulky measuring 130.7mm x 66.4mm x 9.2mm and has a weight of 145grams. The display clocks in at a small 4.5-inches and sports a resolution of 854 x 480, while the processor is listed as the 64-bit Snapdragon 410. The chip will get a bit of a boost from 1GB of RAM, but overall, the specs are squarely on the low-end of the smartphone spectrum.

In the camera department, the Vivo Y21L will make use of a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies while a 5MP sensor takes care of things on the backside. All the usual boxes are checked in the connectivity department as well with Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 4G VoLTE, and Wi-Fi. The Dual-SIM Vivo Y21L will run Funtouch 2.0, which is based on Android 5.1 and is listed with a 2,200mAh battery.

It’s safe to say that 4G VoLTE is the best thing about the Vivo Y21L aside from its style, and the price isn’t going to do much to further its cause. At Rs. 7,490, it’s a bit expensive compared to other handsets in its class along with ones that are a little more expensive and offer up more under the hood.

What do you think of the Vivo Y21L specifications given its price?
