Samsung Epic 4G Update Delivers Amplified 3G Upload Speeds

Sprint has rolled out updates as promised for the Samsung Galaxy S range of smartphones and now apparently the second 4G enabled handset on Sprint’s WiMAX network, the Samsung Epic 4G is gaining an update of its own which delivers 4 fixes to the device.

According to an article over on Phandroid by Kevin Krause and by way of the guys over on Engadget, the new Sprint update for the Samsung Epic 4G delivers an increase in 3G upload speeds which at least should please those who aren’t currently covered by a 4G area.

As for other improvements to the Samsung Epic 4G, it is said the update brings improvement to WiFi standby battery drain, large email upload speeds improved, and Amazon MP3 is now able to download on the 4G network.

The update to the Samsung Epic 4G will be pushed to the device automatically and downloading to the device should take about 7 to 8 minutes and brings the firmware version to S:D700.0.5S.DI18.
