Micromax Canvas Turbo vs Gionee Elife E7 specs showdown

The Micromax Canvas Turbo is one of the most recent smartphones released by the popular manufacturer. On the other hand the recently launched Gionee Elife E7 is set for a January release in India and also offers some impressive specs. Today we have a Micromax Canvas Turbo vs. Gionee Elife E7 specs showdown.

Phones Review readers in India might be considering purchasing the Micromax Canvas Turbo right now. However, Gionee smartphones are also popular and the Elife E7 will be excellent competition for the Canvas Turbo. We’ll look at the key specs of each device to see how they compare.

Processors
The Canvas Turbo packs an MTK 6589T 1.5GHz quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX544 graphics. The Gionee Elife E7 will come in two versions, a 3G model that has a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and a 4G-enabled version (the E7L) with a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core CPU. Both of the Elife models have Adreno 330 graphics.

Display
There’s a 5-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 and 441 ppi for the Canvas Turbo. Meanwhile the Elife E7 has a 5.5-inch display, also with Full HD and this time 400 ppi.

RAM and Storage
The Canvas Turbo has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Elife E7 has 16 or 32GB of internal storage with the former having 2GB of RAM and the latter packing 3GB of RAM.

Camera Set-up
A 13-megapixel rear camera features on the Canvas Turbo, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The Elife E7 (pictured above) carries a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

Battery
The Canvas Turbo has a 2000 mAh battery while the Elife E7 has a 2500 mAh battery.

Operating System
The Canvas Turbo runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. The Elife E7 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean overlaid with the Amigo 2.0 user interface.

Price
The Micromax Canvas Turbo has a price tag of Rs. 19,999. The pricing of the Gionee Elife E7 has not yet been confirmed for India. However, the Elife E7 price for China is 2,699 Yuan for the 16GB version or 3,199 Yuan for the 32GB version. That equates to around Rs. 27,600 or Rs. 32,800 respectively.

As you can see there’s a lot to recommend both of these smartphone but specs-wise we have to say the Gionee Elife E7 has the edge, perhaps unsurprisingly seeing as it’s the newer device. However, it’s likely that the eventual price for India will be more than for the Canvas Turbo, so only you can decide if the difference is worth it.
