Meizu MX5 review, true flagship at a low price

The Meizu MX5 smartphone released first in China and recently arrived for more countries including India. The new flagship is generating plenty of attention and combines some top specs with a very reasonable price. If you’re thinking of purchasing this smartphone you might be interested in a Meizu MX5 review.

The MX5 is a good-looking handset with a metal build. It has key specs that include a 2.2GHz Helio X10 octa-core processor, 5.5-inch Full HD display, 3GB of RAM, and 16, 32 or 64GB models for internal storage. It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and 3150 mAh battery (more on specs in our launch article). It runs Android Lollipop with Meizu’s Flyme 4.5.

The Meizu MX5 price at its India launch was Rs. 19,999 for the 16GB option and we’ve seen it up for grabs for the US market from around $400 or in the UK from around £250, although prices vary according to retailer. It’s always a good idea to take a look at reviews before you buying a new device, and the YouTube video that we’ve embedded below this story comes from Fone Arena and shows a Meizu MX5 review.

The video begins with a short introduction that asks the question “should you buy it?” It goes on to look into this with the Meizu MX5 review in full, beginning with the design and build of the phone and showing the handset from many angles. Following this many further aspects are covered. These include the display, the camera capabilities (including sample photos and video footage), and performance with benchmark result.

The review also mentions connectivity, storage, the fingerprint sensor, software experience, and battery life. The overall verdict is that the Meizu MX is “truly a flagship device despite its lowly price” and it comes highly recommended.
