Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update still dragging heels

During the later part of last year Samsung pushed out some new firmware for a number of handsets that quickly caused some serious issues for owners, and while some of these have now been ironed out and updates resumed the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 update is still dragging its heels for some owners of the device.

Many regions have now seen the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update arriving for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which came after the software had some serious issues for other Galaxy devices that included the S3.

This has now been fixed with downloads commencing before Christmas but there are still owners of the Galaxy Note 2 waiting for the new firmware to arrive. Australian carrier Telstra are pretty good in keeping their customers informed about upcoming new firmware releases, but has yet to start the process of updating the Note 2 with Android 4.3.

The carrier has now listed the update as to be confirmed with no actual release date in sight, and French carrier SFR have stated that it has hit problems with the operating system during testing, but many owners would rather wait to get a stable version of the OS instead of one riddled with bugs.

Trouble is the handset has been tipped like the Galaxy S3 to get updated to Android 4.4 KitKat at some point, which will again repeat the long drawn out process all over again.

This compares to HTC that is already started getting KitKat out to the HTC One and will speed the process up in the coming weeks, and even the Motorola G has been treated to Android 4.4 but many will point to Google’s involvement as the cause of this.

Have you got a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 still waiting for Android 4.3?
