Many of us may have a Sat-Nav in our cars to help us find where to go, and a growing number of people are using smartphone apps to do the same job, and today we have news of the Waze app that is the social GPS driving and navigation king.

This free traffic and navigation application that is available for a number of mobile platforms provides users with a way to improve their daily commute, and while doing so help others as well. Users can become part of their local driving community in their area by joining forces with fellow drivers nearby to beat the traffic jams, and save time.

The app has live community based traffic information and road reports, and will also provide drivers notifications when approaching police traps, speed cameras, or other hazards on the road as well as traffic congestion. There is also free traffic navigation that features voice guided turn by turn guidance with a 100 percent live map with real time road monitoring.

Users will get automatic re-routing as road conditions change for whatever reason, and hands free operation with voice commands will keep you safe at the wheel. Users can easily share their location or destination by email or text, and have the ability to create or join local driving groups.

To get started users type in the destination address and start their journey with the app open on the handset, and users can share road reports along the way to help others due to go along the same route.
