Google Maps To Go Native On Windows Mobile

Google has announced that it will upgrade its Windows Mobile-based Maps application. The new version will have new features such as functional route mapping and clearly marked turn-points on every loaded map.

Google Maps for Windows Mobile will no longer be java-midlet and will be the first to be released as a stand-alone Windows Mobile application. These new updates will see Google Maps go up to version 1.7.1.4 but they still don’t bring Google Maps up to the level of other mobile mapping solutions.

Although it may be free, I still think they could’ve tweaked it a bit more. I mean, after all, voice commands wouldn’t go a miss!
