Sony Ericsson do make some cool phones but this new idea is bloody marvelous, Sony Ericsson files patent for detachable screen housing which all sounds pretty impressive. Not to sure on why they want it to be detachable though.
My guess is that you can replace the screen at anytime more easily than fixed screens; the main idea behind this is to make the phone’s body independent of the mobile phone display itself.
Going on the drawings/images we can see that the screen can flip forwards and backwards (Front & back) depending on whether you are using the handset in the open or closed position. We will not get too excited yet until the design has been accepted, built and produced.
