Sony Ericsson joins the unlimited downloads brigade

Under: Mobile Phones, News, Sony Ericsson Date: September 9th, 2008

It seems hat the latest word on the net waves is that Sony Ericsson will be the latest mobile phone manufacturer to announce their own unlimited download service.

Fast on the heels of Nokia’s announcement of their “Comes with Music”, Sony Ericsson are prepping their version called PlayNow Arena.

Could Sony Ericsson be worried about being upstaged by Nokia’s “Comes with Music”? The word is Sony Ericsson has already signed deals with Sony BMG, Warner, EMI and a handful of indies, but the big guns of Universal seems to be holding back.

Nokia
already has Universal onboard, and for Sony Ericsson to be able to make a serious play at this game they will need to as well.
