Mozilla alpha version a couple of weeks away?

Under: News, Phone Software Date: October 9th, 2008

There are many mobile browsers available, Safari, Opera, Skyfire and the like and it looks like Mozilla will be joining the mobile browser brigade sooner that we thought. Mozilla has been destined for mobile and will probably come round about 2010.

There has been an announcement of a Mozilla ‘alpha version in a few weeks’ so probably fits in with the 2010 prediction. No clarification or even hints at which platforms Mozilla will target, but one can presume it will probably be Open Source.

Who knows, maybe Mozilla could be headed for the Google Android platform, but to get a native version a few Symbian, Windows, or even Apple developers would need to spend some time with the source code.

I guess the big question is with so many mobile browsers already available does the mobile arena really need another one?
