T-Mobile drop Android G1 price by a tenner

Under: Google Android, News Date: December 4th, 2008

It hasn’t been long since T-Mobile began selling the Google Android G1 but already T-Mobile has dropped the price and is now offering the T-Mobile G1 free on tariffs of £30.00.

On launch of the T-Mobile G1, the original plan customers had to sign for was £40.00 per month, so this reduction so soon after will probably have a few early G1 customers a bit irate as they will probably look on it as they have paid a premium.

T-Mobile insists the price drop isn’t a result of poor sales of the G1, but industry sources reckon the £10.00 drop is T-Mobile’s attempt to “overcome fierce competition from other high-end devices.”

The word is though that if early G1 adopters get in touch with T-Mobile they will alter their price accordingly. Personally I say who cares what the reason, a price drop is always good for the customer.
