I was curious about a software update I heard a rumor about. I heard that RIM was going to release an update that would help drastically help the slow switch from portrait to landscape mode as well as help out the poor battery life? Is this true and if so when can we expect it?

also is there any place to get new themes besides the preloaded one?

When is the new update for the storm coming out? I love my storm, but it seems that youtube is running really slow and kind of choppy, is there a way to fix this?

Why did they remove the functionality to configure the number of times the ring tone will go off when receiving messages and emails? I use the Storm for work and I’m on support 24/7. I sometimes need the phone to ring multiple times in the middle of the night. The only thing you can configure is the vibration. Is there something in the configuration I’m missing?

I don’t have the blackberry Storm YET, but wanted to know a couple of this first.

    1. Does the phone have the 16MB memory card included when you buy it or do you have to get is separate?

    2. Can it be bought without a contract, ie at a retail price and how much does it go for retail, where can i get it?

    Thanks

My Storm reboots without notice. The other day it was sitting on my seat in the car and it rebooted out of the blue. How come? I’ve also had this occur when the bluetooth switch off occurs. By the way the my Plantronics 510 Voyager worked fine with all my other blackberries. With the Storm it is questionable… it connects or the Storm says and then when I dial it does not come through the ear piece. I usually switch off the Plantronics and then turn it back on and it works fine. Nonetheless, it seems to be a crap shoot as to whether it will work while connected. Verizon of course says my bluethooth needs upgrading to one of their devices… hmmm?

Had my storm for 1 day. It froze and asked for software to be reloaded. Couldn’t do anything have had to send it back for a replacement. Got to be a record! Now, whenever i mention my choice, people tut and pull faces. I thought Blackberries were reliable? Am I wrong? Have I made a foolish choice?

Bought the Storm last week and it reboots at least once a day. There’s usually some event associated with this. I have built-in bluetooth in the car, and twice when the call came in the phone rebooted. And it takes several minutes or so to reboot! Never had this happen before.

Also reboots if I use the GPS. Anyone have any ideas?
