In March of 2009, Ford Europe is to launch a solution that combines an in-dash navigation solution with a mobile phone and the factory fitted system is to be known as “FordMobile Navigation.”
“FordMobile Navigation” consists of GPS and Bluetooth in a dashboard which connects to the driver’s mobile handset on which navigational software is running along with map data on a 2GB memory card.
The destination in then set into the mobile phone and voice guidance is produced via the vehicles audio while turn by turn icons are shown on the dash screen along with street names, distance and ETA.
