Palm CEO Ed Corrigan unveiled the new Palm Pre touch screen phone with Web OS software and slide out QWERTY keyboard at CES 2009. The Palm Pre is hoped to bring the status of Palm back to the forefront of the mobile arena, but will it actually do well?

The Palm Pre has 8GB of storage space along with a 3.1 inch colour touchscreen with a side out QWERTY beneath, and Corrigan says the Palm Pre will redefine how people use smartphones; big claim Mr. Corrigan.

But how well will the Palm Pre do up against the likes of the Apple iPhone and Google Android T-Mobile G1? The Palm Pre boasts the new Web OS which as yet little is really known about, however apparently Palm have been working on this new OS for several years.
