The problem with the BlackBerry in the Whitehouse appears to be the email facility, Bill Clinton only send 2 emails while in office, while George W Bush stopped using email back in January 01.

Barack Obama though is somewhat of an email addict and seems to be fighting tooth and nail to hang on to his beloved BlackBerry and in a recent interview with CNBC said “I’m still clinging to my BlackBerry. They’re going to pry it out of my hands.”

Another reason the Security Service wants to halt BlackBerry usage is the possibility of hacker eavesdropping and other types of digital snoop. RIM does offer encryption but the NSA demand stricter communication security requirements.

So what’s your view, should Obama be allowed to keep his BlackBerry?
