Android app MemoryUp Personal wipes G1 data

Under: Google Android, News Date: January 27th, 2009

Yikes, if you are downloading MemoryUp Personal download from the Google Android Market you’d better cancel it right now as according to a whole big number of T-Mobile G1ers who downloaded MemoryUp Personal it’s turned out to be one huge disaster for them.

MemoryUp Personal bills itself as “a handy memory optimizer tool that will keep your Android smartphone running faster and efficiently,” however according to numerous reports from G1 users the app actually wipes a heap load of data from your T-Mobile G1.

Reports have been heard on the devil app clearing SD cards to completely wiping your contacts list and several G1ers have called the application a scam. Seems the Android Market made one big boo-boo in letting this one through.
