Android browser vulnerability fix available but not issued?

Under: Google Android, Phone Software
Date: February 14th, 2009

Mobile phone software vulnerabilities are no rare occurrence in today’s modern smartphones, and most manufacturers managed to keep on top of the problems reasonably well by issuing updates and patches and such.

However, the latest word is that a problem found in Google Android’s browser multimedia subsystem is so bad that some security experts have stated people should avoid it like the plague until it’s fixed.

The real annoying thing though is that there is already a fix available, but for some reason no one has thought about rolling out the update to T-Mobile G1 owners yet. I wonder why?
