Under: News
Date: February 18th, 2009

We know there has been talk about Microsoft launching their own mobile applications store, and hot behind Microsoft’s announcement of Windows Mobile 6.5 at the Mobile World Congress 2009 they have announced their plans for their mobile app store.

Apparently there is an easily discoverable on handset app which is installed on every Windows Mobile 6.5 handset which includes a prominent place on the Start menu. Windows Mobile store will distribute to 30 countries with easy payment options.

There is to be a single source developer sign up website to allow publication and management of apps. A transparent set of rules which state the type of apps allowed, along with existing Microsoft dev tools such as Visual Studio to speed things up, and a streamline but flexible way of publishing to the market.
