BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 recall by Bell no need to return handset

Under: BlackBerry, Mobile Phones Date: March 7th, 2009

Over in Canada, Bell Mobility has apparently issued a recall of the only just released RIM BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230; the reason for the recall is apparently something to do with how the BlackBerry pearl Flip 8230 has been flashed.

However, it appears that customers will now not have to send in their BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 smartphone because if purchased with OS 4.6.1.162, customers will receive an SMS telling them to update to OS 4.6.1.182.

So, if your BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 smartphone is already rocking OS 4.6.1.182 then you shouldn’t be experiencing any problems. Stores are currently being sent the update for their unsold units as not to hold up sales.
