Verizon: Is there too many Mobile Operating Systems?

Under: Phone Business & Stocks, Phone Software
Date: April 3rd, 2009

There are an abundance of mobile phone operating systems currently available, some say too many, and one of those is Verizon Wireless, who are currently using 8 or 9 mobile operating systems but believe the limit should be capped at 3 or 4.

According to an article on informationweek, while at CTIA 2009, Verizon Wireless CEO, Lowell McAdam complained there are too many mobile phone operating systems and this causes them to spend too much in development costs.

Verizon would like to see the over all number of mobile OS’s reduced, which has now caused speculation as to whether Verizon Wireless will drop some OS’s and if so which ones.
