T-Mobile USA Unveil pinhead size SIM for embedded devices

T-Mobile USA Unveils pinhead size SIM for embedded devices

Under: Phone Software
Date: April 25th, 2009

It appears that the SIM as we know it may soon change if T-Mobile has anything to do with it. According to Cnn, T-Mobile USA thinks the small piece of plastic and metal in everyone’s mobile phone is too big and thus needs to be reduced in size.

Therefore, T-Mobile USA has now unveiled a tiny new SIM which can be used with embedded devices such as a digital watch, music player, a microwave, even traffic lights, and is the size of a pinhead.

T-Mobile USA wants to push to connect embedded system to their GSM network and believes the new pinhead sized embedded SIM will help connect future embedded devices to their network.
