First and foremost a BlackBerry is an enterprise device and was of course a large focus at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2009. During the keynote, Bob Picciano, General Manager of IBM, introduced Alloy, a BlackBerry enterprise solution.

Alloy was first announced back in January at Lotusphere and is essentially an application for managers who handle all the bureaucratic paperwork on the go.

With Alloy for BlackBerry business managers can send out reports, fine tune task assignments through SAP Workflow, deal with travel requests, grant leave requests using Lotus calendars and utilise the custom options available.
