Virgin Mobile USA has announced Q1 09 revenues that double last years first quarter figures states Intomobile. Virgin Mobile USA announced quarterly revenue of $13.5 million which is up from $4.8 million on Q1 of 08.

However, Virgin Mobile USA lost 166,000 subscribers who opted to move over to other pre pay carriers, which is a substantial loss of customers in anyone’s book.

Most of the success of the first quarter results is put down to Virgin Mobile USA’s new hybrid plans that deliver post-paid calling plan features combining them with the flexibility of contract free.
