The GSMA announced during the Mobile Money Summit, the first 3 applications to the Mobile Money for the Unbanked Fund have now been approved to compete for the MMU Award reports Intomobile.
The 1st MMU Award will recognise the mobile money service or app that has made the most significant impact on unbanked customer in developing markets over the year and will be part of the Asia Mobile Awards in Hong Kong at the Mobile Asia Congress on the 18th of November.
To be eligible your project must involve mobile money services to unbanked customers living on less than $2 per day. The project must be innovative, market based and development likely to accelerate with the support of the MMU Fund. And applicants must explain their projects cannot readily get commercial funding.
