Apparently smartphone maker HTC is taking a step back this fall to release a non smartphone states a report over on wmpoweruser.

I guess this is news as we are more used to seeing top notch smartphones like the HTC Hero and HTC Touch Pro2 coming from HTC.

Apparently the low end HTC device will sport a touch screen form factor which is similar to the HTC Viva and will feature a custom HTC operating system which will take hints from the HTC Sense and TouchFLO 3D interfaces.

That’s about all we know on this HTC non smartphone for now but as soon as we hear more will pass it along.
