The modular phone by Modu has finally hit the shelves after a long and painful wait of around 17 months since we were first given a glimpse of the working prototype.

Retailing at 125 US dollars, its been said that the phone will first make an appearance in the Middle East, boasting to be the lightest cellphone in the world.

Overall the Modu doesn’t sound that bad a deal, but it’s a little disappointing considering how long we have waited. The cellphone will have a range of jackets that only really go as far as diversifying the looks. We are hoping that more jackets will be available until the Modu phone arrives in Europe, Southeast Asia and South America later this year.
