Verizon Communications has reported a revenue growth but also a 21 percent profit fall in the 2nd quarter according to an article on information week.

Verizon Wireless came out the top performer with an addition of some 1.1 million new customers, most of which were acquired by the acquisition of Alltel taking Verizon Wireless to the top with 87.7 million customers.

Verizon Wireless has now said it plans to deliver new mobile phones which will include the Blackberry Storm, Palm Pre and Motorola Android based handsets, and will roll out their LTE based mobile phone later this year.
