Sony Ericsson XPERIA 2 official at $1000

Taking the same steps at the $1000 Samsung Omnia 2, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA 2 has now gone official and will also cost that staggering $1000 or €700 according to a port on softsailor.

Of course that hefty $1000 is for an unsubsidised Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 handset, but at that price the iPhone 3GS does seem much more attractive and probably a better smartphone anyway.

Spec wise the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 offers up quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UNTS/HSDPA, 3.2 inch WCGA touch screen, 8.1 megapixel camera with auto-focus, Bluetooth, AGPS, WiFi, TV out, Windows Mobile 6.5, Google Maps and microSD expansion up to 16GB.
