Sprint Network Palm Pre handsets to get massive price cut

The Sprint network is one of the largest in the United States but continues to struggle with customer losses to rivals mainly due to lack of compelling mobile phone handsets reports an article on dailytech.

One of the highest profile mobile handsets with Sprint is the Palm Pre smartphone which reports say has failed to generate envisioned sales and pull in new customers.

The Palm Pre sells for $199.99, and with the Android packing HTC Hero coming to Sprint commanding a price tag of $179.99 it will probably be more alluring to customers than the Palm Pre. So Sprint had decided to drop the price on the Palm Pre with indirect retail partners to $149.99 after a mail in rebate. But will this be enough to generate extra Palm Pre sales?
