Sony Ericsson second life for recycled mobile phones

This is the age of recycling, so what happens to mobile phone parts when they are recycled? Well if it’s a Sony Ericsson mobile phone recycled components may well end up in toys, consumer goods and even medical equipment reports businessgreen.

Head of corporate sustainability at Sony Ericsson, Mats Pellback-Scharp has said that growing numbers of tech companies are realising it is more cost effective to purchase cameras, touch screen tech and colour displays from old mobile phones rather than develop the systems themselves.

Sony Ericsson is launching their latest “green phone” the Natie in the United Kingdom next week and is encouraging the reuse of mobile phone components as part of a wider environmental push.
